So this image is gonna be a little different from your norm or average, but it will tie into what I'm sharing in this week's newsletter. We often think of the atmosphere & automatically go to the world or global in a sense. However, we sometimes don't realize that our atmosphere is seen as those places that we frequent regularly. For instance, many of the most notable ones are our bedroom & our workspace. Then you have what many consider as those one-offs. For instance, one more notable one is working from home. In my case, my work-from-home doubles as my creative space. This atmosphere can personally be one of the most bombarding places to be in, but when you can allow it to be your truest form or stay focused & stay on plan, it's one of the greatest places to be in. As the image above shows, it would seem like a lot of activity going on to others. For others, however, it might be the one place where they're allowed to create. Setting the atmosphere sets the mood and honestly sets the tone in so many words. For example, I referenced the bedroom, & the biggest pet peeve that everyone battles is the infamous bed itself, in making it, keeping it clean, keeping it tidy, and placing it in a way that is comfortable and enjoyable. In many instances, your bedroom can be a very large storyboard for you without trying to be. And we've all been there. In many instances, it's pretty manageable and under control. And in some instances, it could be a conundrum of chaos if you think about it. But when it's under control, you have nothing but happy feelings and thoughts. You find yourself placing candles in it for proper night calm. Setting the scene is golden whether we realize it or not. Now is where I cause you to think about the fun elements. Do you set an atmosphere when working in your "home space"? You may not have a desk per se, but you may have an area in your space where you know you're able to just work on everything you need to get done & not have to deal with a whole bunch of foolishness. All you need is your laptop, your screen, & maybe some headphones (noise canceling). Some people may need the speaker to outright play music that will be calming enough to stay focused but solid enough to give you a form of background noise. When working in the office, the same things apply. Your desk can sometimes be a safe haven. Many people know that I'm famous for having fidgeting accessories on my desk for those opportunities when I need to think a little less about what I'm working on and more about just finding or reaching a happy place. If you notice, in each of these spaces, one thing was not mentioned. And that's electronics that you don't need aka tablets & phones. Don't get me wrong, we sometimes need that phone to get some late-night scrolling to shut it down. That's never a bad thing. That being said, however, you need to wind that screen time down to give your mind and body the attention they need to just enjoy and savor rest for a little bit. Work on and invest some time in thinking about your atmosphere when working. They can be the thing you need to get through the storm by noticing that the calm is a little too calm. I hope everyone enjoyed this newsletter, & we will be back again with another one next week. Take care. |
