This week's newsletter will be a shocker to read from a tech lover like myself. I don't know how to explain it, but somehow, I've been in a space where all of my tech wants to do its best to just not work. That's the cut & dry version of it. I am not in this starvation state regarding my writing, but I will stand behind the fact that my tech has been finding unique ways to challenge and battle itself in just outright working properly. And trust me, even when I think I've got it, it still will find a way to work against me more than in my favor. When I reference tackling it, I'm referring to the essential tech items maintaining and upholding a proper charge. My MacBook wants to do everything in it's power to reach zero percent (but somehow still work). Today, specifically, my Anker big boy power bank decided to have a bit of an episode by just going out on me as well. It was initially at 91% & when I connected it to my laptop, somehow it got all the way to zero, which is still confusing, but it somehow happened. The kicker though is that when you connect it to this charging base I picked up a few months ago, it charges the bank up pretty quick in the long run. This is a key element to factor in when I participated in a career expo last week, when my laptop was practically on it's last leg. Things like this are always worth learning. This brings us to the title that a lot of us doing like to deal with...when tech decides to tech. In many instances, technology truly has a mind of its own, & there's not much we can do about it. I won't say that we're forced to take whatever it brings. What I will say, however, is that we sometimes find those things to do that may not require us being as attached and connected to our various instances of mobile devices. When thinking of mobile devices, we automatically think about the phone, but we forget about the other entities like our tablets or as mentioned above our laptops. This is one of the reasons where owning a desktop is a great feeling because you can use it one place & it will always work based on having power connected to it. That's also the trade off, because once the power goes out, you have no device to use. In closing, I want people to be aware of how and when to use their devices as they are available for proper usage. Sometimes, they can dominate our everyday lives, but the real resource that we are gonna see to use is what's been available all along...pen and paper. It'll never go out of style. That's what I've found at least. As always, I appreciate you all supporting, & until next time, BT signing out. Take it easy. |
